The only bad thing I could think of to say about Rubi cocktail bar is that it´s so teeny tiny that you can only take a handful of your friends, instead of all of them. I suppose that just means you have to go back on several occasions…problem solved!

If you hop on their website you can reserve a table to avoid disappointment, which I would reccommend doing on the weekends as it can get busy.

The staff are lovely, the drinks strong and the atmosphere cozy with lots of candle light, exposed brick and red hues. They serve a varied selection of snacks starting from €2 and the drinks are very reasonably priced (espeically considering how strong they make them!). Dinner can be bought from 19:30 until late and consists of meals intended to be shared.

While ordering a freshly muddled mojito, I needed the bartender to repeat the price ¨REALLY?! Just €3.50?¨. Needless to say, many more were purchased…

Beers can be bought for €3.00, wine and cocktails between €5-7.

Rubi is a perfect establishment to take a date who you are trying to impress or just for a nice night out with friends where you don´t have to shout to have a conversation.

Hola! My name is Becky. I´m yet another Australian expat who fell for the beautiful mistress we like to call Barcelona and stayed far, far longer than once intended. I throw myself into the cities events, bars, clubs, shops etc, with reckless abandon to bring you these reviews. It´s all for you! ...Or is it just an excuse to party and spend lots of money without feeling guilty?... Either way, read up on some of my favorite ways to see this exciting and eclectic city. Happy travels and welcome to BCN!
