At the intersection of Carrer Viladecols where biscuit-coloured Roman artefacts lay in perfect contrast to the confetti of graffitied doorways, you can find Imanart.
Imanart was started as a photography project by in 2002 and has bloomed into something beautiful since then. Their main products are postcards, fridge magnets and posters/ photos of Barcelona ready to frame.
I really liked the strikingly-shot photos during the city’s various bouts of protests which will be relatable to anyone who has spent any time here during such displays. Ooh and I can’t forget the notebooks with cute recycled covers- something I would buy as a gift for a friend and then probably end up keeping for myself if I’m completely honest.
They have a stock of photos which are all available in a range of sizes and materials- the photos for framing start from 15€.
The prices are quite reasonable and you’d probably feel good about handing over your cash to someone who is truly passionate about their city, what they do and the things they produce. You could find a much better souvenir of your time in Barcelona here than at the endless minimarts full of imported crap. It’s always good to buy local and contribute to the city you´ve just enjoyed!
