Barcelona is hosting the largest, family-friendly and free eco-festival in town on Sat April 20 and Sun 21, the 18th Earth Day festival, known as Festa de la Terra. It will be held in Ciutadella park and at Lluís Companys ave, opposite the main gate.

This event brings together citizens, activists, non-profit organizations, artists and musical performers from different places, all concerned about the environment. It’s an entertaining weekend of outdoor activities not to be missed. There are hundreds of stalls where you can buy organic, natural, home-made and sustainable products.

As soon as you walk under Arc de Triomf (the entrance to Barcelona World Expo in 1888) and see home-made cold meat, bread and cakes looking very inviting, you will feel like nibbling something for breakfast or tea. While strolling down Lluís Companys avenue, you will be forced to satisfy your sudden hunger at one of the stalls serving delicious food like everyone else. You can get tasty meat or meat-free meals at a very reasonable price (€ 5-7).

Enter the park, there are plenty of green exhibitors, educational entertainment for children and adults, environmental discussions, massage sessions, and a wide variety of interesting activities. This celebration gathers hundreds of people for a weekend in an enjoyable atmosphere. I have been going there for 6 years. I just love it. Besides, the festival closes its gates beating its big figures of attendance year after year.

Hello, there! I’m Eva. I’m 33 years old and happy to live in Barcelona, where I was born. Enthusiastic, dynamic, open-minded, friendly and patient. I have always had itchy feet and enjoyed travelling and exploring new places. Eager to learn more and more every day and embark on new adventures for treasure hunts. A Barcelona lover who becomes homesick when is far from her charming city for a long period of time. I like mingling with the melting pot, getting lost in the narrowest medieval streets of the Gothic quarter and smelling the aroma of countless enticing cafés. An excellent hostess and tour guide.
