Hosting nights with names such as Nasty Mondays, Crappy Tuesdays, Cannibal on Wednesdays, Cupcake on Thursdays and NITSA club on Saturdays, you know this is a fun place to be.

Monday, which is the night they are most renowned for, is a party that is directly linked to the skate/surf/wakeboard (/anything else that requires a board…) scene. Dance the night away to Rock, Pop, indie, Garage, 80’s and Electro Rock. From Led Zeppelin, The Killers, Mötley Crüe, Daft Punk y Johnny Cash a Joy Division. Get there before 12:30 to avoid a long line.

Following on is Crappy Tuesday, more Indie and Electro Pop but with the same energy and personality than the previous night.

Sound System sessions put on live roots music and like-minded DJs every Wednesday, for example; Ojos de Brujo, Muchachito Bombo Infierno, Macaco, Dusminguet o Calima.

Thursdays is a little sweeter, as Cupcake may lead you to believe with an emphasis on nostalgia- danceable music from the 80’s and the newest pop music with an 80’s sound.
Among the big names who have dj´d there are Aphex Twin, Todd Terry, Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin, SBTRKT, DJ Shadow, Autechre, DJ Rush, Apparat, A-Trak o DJ Krush and many more.

Saturday’s sound is less alternative and ranges from Techno to Hip Hop and Electro, House and UK Bass.

Every time I have been here I have looked around at the crowd and seen nothing but smiling faces, jiggling as they dance.

Apolo also host a number of concerts for which you can buy tickets online. Hours vary depending on the day.

Becky Robinson
Hola! My name is Becky. I´m yet another Australian expat who fell for the beautiful mistress we like to call Barcelona and stayed far, far longer than once intended. I throw myself into the cities events, bars, clubs, shops etc, with reckless abandon to bring you these reviews. It´s all for you! ...Or is it just an excuse to party and spend lots of money without feeling guilty?... Either way, read up on some of my favorite ways to see this exciting and eclectic city. Happy travels and welcome to BCN!
