Abandon guilt all ye who enter.

Would you like a try – a voice addressed us while we were strolling down the carrer Regomir. Cupcakes. The young man with a turquois sign ‘Sweet Dreams’ above his head was holding out a tray well-laden with cup cakes. – Come back tomorrow!
And coming back we did, almost every day since…

Arturo and Dayana, a couple from Venezuela, are food fanatics. Food is their passion, their religion, their bliss.
They opened Sweet Dreams – a beautiful, tastefully decorated artisan bakery in September 2012 and since then their sect has been expanding with the speed of an avalanche. Lemon and chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, peanut butter, passion fruit, lime and white chocolate – are just few of the 17 types of cupcakes and Latin American home inspired desserts that they offer. The last masterpiece, already labeled as ‘orgasmic’ (and I could not agree more!) by one of the Sweet Dreams fans on Facebook, is a pistachio cake with vanilla cream, topped with guava jam. Need I say more?
To hell with extra kilos and healthy diet! Life is too short to waste it on abstinence. Plus, the rumor has it that Dayane has been trying her hand at empanadas.

Anka
Film scholar and a tango fanatic, I was born in 1983 in the gloomy cold place called Estonia. I first visited Barcelona three years ago. The colors, the sounds, the smells, and the inimitable vibe of the city – it did not take long for Barcelona to put its spell on me! ‘This is a city I want to live in’, a thought kept spinning through my head while I was jostling through the endless flow of crowd at La Rambla. So now its your turn! Do yourself a favor, get on a plane/train/bus/car and let this city do its magics!
